What I don't like with the 2nd option is that the image gets really dark, which is different from in camera, at least on my Fujifilm X cameras. The first one ("High Contrast Filter") highlights areas with high acutance/contrast, which I find less useful. I use the second one (called "Fine Detail Filter" in FRV's lingo, if I'm not mistaken) to highlight areas with high resolution/microcontrast, much like the manual focus peaking assist available in most mirrorless cameras. Additionally, you can turn on the simultaneous display of both types of outlines (not possible for some video cards).".
